Twins who grew up at Kennesaw State graduate as nurses

Katelyn Dockery remembers being pre-school age, sitting in her father’s office after school, coloring on a white board with markers. Her twin sister Taylor recalls going to Â鶹ÊÓƵ basketball games and getting her face painted in the lobby at VyStar Arena. Their father, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Faculty Director of General Education in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Office of Academic Affairs Chris Dockery, remembers it all — basketball games, afternoons spent in his office with his daughters, taking them to lunch at The Commons, among other activities. And 21 years later, the Dockery family has cemented its legacy at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, with a pair of new graduates.

Kennesaw State researchers examine Atlanta's World Cup moment

Situated in the Atlanta metropolitan area, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has a loge-level seat to one of the premier sports cities in the U.S. Owl alumni work in the administrative offices of nearly every Atlanta professional sports team and sporting venue in the area, thanks in large part to the education they received at Kennesaw State. Many have studied under the tutelage of faculty in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management, the latter integrating their personal research interests to set up students for success beyond the classroom.
